Photodynamic Therapy

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) uses a special  Blue Light at 410 nm to remove precancerous and inflammatory skin conditions on the face, neck, scalp, ears, arms, hands, as well as other areas. During the procedure, a clear liquid (Levulan Kerastick)  is applied to the skin one to two hours prior to a 15-16 minute exposure to the Blue Light.   After the treatment, the patient avoids outdoor light for that day and the day after.    Healing is finished normally within 5-7 days on the face, 7-14 days on the arms and chest. This is a wonderful method to quickly reverse sun damage in individuals prone to skin cancer.  Recently, the photorejuvenation benefits of this procedure have been touted in the media.

Introducing  ALLUMERA™ , the first photodynamic cosmetic treatment ,  mild enough to be able to resume normal activity right away, powerful enough to shrink pores, firm the skin, and give the skin a glow!  This treatment does not peel the skin or remove precancers from the skin, but works directly on the deeper levels of the collagen and the oil glands to firm and rejuvenate the skin.
