"Laser resurfacing is performed in our office with the Silktouch, Feathertouch CO2 Sharplan Laser using local anesthesia, or in the outpatient surgery setting at the Morton Plant/Mease outpatient surgery center with intravenous or general anesthesia. Most of our patients prefer the local anesthesia in our office, which is not unlike a dental procedure," explains Dr. Roper. "And the entire procedure is over and done with in two hours, with minimal discomfort."

"There is only a 5-day bandage system and a 2 week healing period before sunscreen can be worn. Results are terrific and long-lasting, especially for those with the deepest wrinkles from overexposure to the sun. There is tightening of underlying layers of the skin, similar to that seen in the Thermage procedure, as well as removal of sun damage, which greatly reduces the incidence of skin cancer in all those who have had this procedure," states Dr. Roper.
